Friday Fashion!

I wanted to change it up a little and share a few things I found on the web that I love.
These bow ties are beautiful. I would love to dress Joel in these everyday {if only he'd let me} Forage Bow Ties from {The Curiosity Shoppe}

I just love this cosmetic line I found. I have never used it, but can't wait to try it!It's called Paul & Joe. Everything is packaged in a way you can't resist. It has a 'I am a glamorous movie star from the 30's' kind of feel that makes it irresistible.
Golf shoes with some soul! These are almost enough to make me want to take up golfing. If I EVER went golfing with my hubby I would have to own a pair of these adorable golf shoes. Love them!! Wait until you see the other styles and colors they have. Adorable.

A Day at the Park with my Sweeties!

This Kentucky rainy weather is about to drive me crazy! I feel like it has rained for literally 2 weeks straight. I'm so ready to spend a hot sunny day at the park with my hubby & Maddie. I thought I'd share some pics of the day I have in mind. These are from about 3 weeks ago when we spent the day at Lincoln Ridge Park in Independence. We spent the entire day just laying on a blanket relaxing. Ahh, come on weather. Give me another day like this!!!
Hope everyone's week is off to a great start!!

Hello Bride-to-Be's!!

I don't even remember what I was searching for on the internet when I came across this gorgeous dress! It was one of those days when your searching for something and one thing leads to another & before you know it you're so completely lost in the web you don't even remember what your initial search was. But, I'm not complaining, because finding this dress was so exciting. A dramatic & modern gown made of delicate organza fabric and completely affordable. Yumm :) All the perfect ingredients for a bride's dream dress. Here is just one fabulous piece from the White by Vera Wang 2011 Collection

Coming across this gooorgeous gown made me think of my wedding dress and how much I loooove it. Yes, present tense. I looove my dress and wish I could wear it somewhere again! Ill never forget how exciting it was to shop for a gown. My mom and future mother in law was with me and we went to Bridals by Lori in Atlanta, Georgia. I actually got to meet the designer, Lazaro. He was so nice & helped me find the perfect accessory for my dress {my silk sash covered in fresh water pearls, yes please!}
He did a little sketch of my dress for me to frame {I kept it hidden forever because I didn't want Joel to see it & actually forgot about it until now} I need to get that sucker out & frame it. It's too cool to leave stored away. Anyway, trying on dresses. The FUNNEST shopping experience I think I've ever had. I wish I could do it again :) OHH! Also, when I was there they were filming for Say yes to the Dress, ATL and I was interviewed and used for a VERY BRIEF clip on the introduction to the show. Emphasis on 'very brief' haha but still, how cool is that.
Here is my dress, I am in love with it to this day!!
 Here is the sketch Lazaro drew for me!

Ok I could show off my dress for days. I just love it.
Happy weekend everyone!!

These are the headbands I have made that you can choose from! You can mix and match material!!
{Buttons are limited so if the one you request isn't available it will be substituted for another adorable one!!}
These are my hair clips.
Each flower has an alligator style hair clip on the back that makes it easy to place in your hair or clip onto a simple headband you already have!!
This is my Anthropologie inspired pom pom necklace I made!
All hair clips can be made into headbands, all headbands can be made into a hair clip. The contest winner will basically get a custom made accessory of their choice. Pick the material, tell me how you want it, and it's yours.

Laura Idol | Cocktails + Crafts

I first met Laura a few years ago when we were in nursing school together. I felt like I had known her for years from the moment we met. I'm so blessed to have her as a friend.
I love it that all of my friends are so very different from one another. I like to think that each of them fit a little piece of my personality. She is truly one of a kind. She's soft, charming, and incredibly warm. Her smile puts people at ease. She has a backporch and glass of sweet tea vibe about her. She's a girl's girl and what every guy dreams of in a woman. Laura loves shoes, shimmer, the color coral, and any excuse to get dressed up. She also loves hunting with her husband and shooting the high powered 30 aught 6 he bought her even more. One of a kind. That's Laura.
The jewelry she makes is indicative of her personality. Unique, bold, feminine, and stands out in a crowd.
A couple weeks ago we spent two days in a row together. I was ecstatic! We rarely get together these days with our opposite schedules. We made a trip to St Theresa's Textile Trove where we found some amazing buttons, beads, and fabric. The entire next day was set aside for cocktails + crafts! Mimosa's with fresh squeezed orange juice (she's the best), delicious raspberries, and strawberries. She's quite the hostess.
Here are some of my favorite photos from Laura's craft room where she makes her very unique jewelry.
She's gorgeous.
Her adorable whale headband I helped her make :)
I love the bold colors and feminine details. The coral bird bracelet on the right is one of my favorites!
"Chiquita Banana" earrings!
The beautiful sterling silver earrings she helped me make. Mine all mine!
How cute are these little birds? And they're sitting on yellow flower petals. Seriously, I want some Laura.

Blame it on the Rain

Happy Monday everyone!!
It has not stopped raining ALL day. Perfect weather to stay inside and get a ton of spring cleaning done. I didn't clean as much as I organized. When Joel and I first moved to our apartment we were right in the middle of wedding planning. A lot of things didn't get put away properly and still haven't. The WORST of these things was our closet. Ohh em gee!! It was a disaster.

Organizing our closet was #1 on my list of things to accomplish before summer. I wish I had've taken a before and after picture because you seriously wouldn't believe it. Joel's clothes are actually in there with mine now instead of being cram packed in the guest room closet (Joel's a trooper). And our shoes. My Lord. We have more shoes than any 2 people should ever have. It's kind of embarrassing. But, they look really pretty all lined up in there now!! I literally cleaned that closet from the time I woke up until 4:00. I have lots of clothes & shoes to donate to Goodwill (or if anyone knows of any shelters, etc. that need them let me know!)
Hope you're enjoying this manic Monday and making the best of the rain!!

The After picture of our closet! YAY. So excited about this.
I thought my shoes looked pretty ;)

Friday Inspiration! Simplify your Life

I am absolutely in love with this print and the quote by Henry David Thoreau is beautiful. Simplifying your life and following your dreams confidently is absolutely easier said than done. I'm trying to follow my dream of wedding photography and it's not as easy as it looks. Sacrifices have to be made. A tremendous amount of time and energy (and lets be honest, money) goes into making a dream your reality. Although it's a lot of work it will be 110% worth it in the end if I am living my dream. We'll see. I'm just letting God do his thing :)
Hoping to inspire you this Friday afternoon. And point you to one of my favorite etsy shops, The Wheatfield. Check it out. Her work is gorgeous.
Enjoy your weekend and GO CATS!
